Edit content group

Purpose

This screen sets up a content group in two steps: first its name, icon and description; then the group’s fields. Fields are the values every entry in this group will fill in (top speed, color, 3D model and so on). The same screen is also used to change the schema of an existing group; in that case its title is “Grubu düzenle” (Edit group).

When to use

  • When setting up a new content group.
  • To add a field to an existing group, change the field order or update a field’s limits.

Step by step

Set up a new group

  1. On the Content page press Yeni grup (New group); if you wish, choose a template.
  2. In step 1 / 2 write the group name. In a new group the key is suggested from the name; you can change it as you like, it does not change after saving.
  3. Move to the second step with Devam: alanlar (Continue: fields).
  4. With Alan ekle (Add field), enter a name, kind and, if needed, limits for each field. Reorder fields with the up and down arrows.
  5. Check how the entry form will look with the live preview on the page and say Grubu oluştur (Create group).

Change an existing group’s schema

  1. Press Şemayı düzenle (Edit schema) in the group’s entry list.
  2. The key and kind of saved fields are locked. If you need a different kind, open a new field with Yeni alan olarak ekle (Add as new field).
  3. Press Kaydet (Save). A schema change is also a draft, like entries; it goes to the game when you publish.

Note

If you press Vazgeç (Cancel) while there are unsaved changes, the panel asks for confirmation before leaving.

Common situations

SituationWhat to do
I wrote the key wrong and savedThe key does not change. Add a new field with the right key; if the old one is no longer needed, remove it from the entries.
The “3D model” kind cannot be chosenThe Scenes module is off in this environment; turn the module on.
I cannot change a field’s kindA saved field’s kind is fixed. Open a separate field for the new kind with Yeni alan olarak ekle.
Some fields have a lock iconA plugin (for example Package & Ride) uses that field; it cannot be deleted and its kind does not change.
I cannot add a required text column to a saved tableAdd it as optional first; a new required column is rejected because existing rows have no value.
“Devam: alanlar” does not move to the next stepIn step 1 the name or key is missing or invalid; fix the red messages.
